The IWK Foundation is working to shift the conversation around women+ health and drive lasting change. IWK Health is dedicated to caring for women through every stage of life, from pediatrics to menopause, right here in the Maritimes and giving women the equality and care they deserve. 

While the Foundation is best known for championing children’s health, their mandate has always included women, and they believe it’s time to bring women’s health to the forefront.  Despite progress in many areas, women’s health remains under-researched, underfunded, and under-prioritized.  The IWK Foundation is stepping up to lead a first-of-its-kind research initiative that puts women’s experiences, voices, and health outcomes at the centre of future planning.  

The IWK Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that raises funds to support IWK Health, and a fun fact is that IWK Health is also one of only two health centres in Canada that cares for both women and children.

The funds raised through the generosity of our donor community help fund the IWK’s areas of greatest need, including purchasing new and advanced medical equipment, funding leading-edge research, and upgrading care spaces and technology.
